One of the coolest moments in the original Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay reveal didn’t end up in the final build thanks to cuts that had to be made by the development team because of ‘design reasons’ during production. But enterprising modder Saturne is working on re-introducing the traversal mechanic to the game (thanks, PCGamesN). The mod, hosted over on Nexus Mods, allows players to double-jump near a wall in order to start dashing across it in style. Hit jump again to stop. It’s definitely a work in progress and is liable to bug out quite frequently at the time of writing, but it’s a start, for sure. “Don’t expect anything sick, it’s barely usable at the moment – it’s more of a proof of concept for myself,” the modder warns players eager to try our the re-instated mechanic. The video above shows the original version of wall-running in action, and safe to say the mod doesn’t make it look like that… yet. There are a few known bugs with the mod – you can die from fall damage, you can phase through walls, and it only works on 95% of the game’s walls – but it seems Saturne is eager to keep working on the project in the future. Some of our favorites include a wonky third-person mod, one that allows you to unlock cheats in the sci-fi RPG, and one that gives the game a Borderlands cel-shaded look.
