Revealed last year at PDXCON, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood like Vampire: The Masquerade is part of the Classic World of Darkness universe, but instead of playing a vampire, you are a werewolf. In the game, you play as Cahal, a Garou who went into exile after losing control of his destructive rage, which is primal anger granted to the Garou. Rage is not only an asset but a weakness. Here’s the synopsis: Gaia - Mother Earth - is dying. Ravaged by mankind’s endless hunger, she is losing the struggle against the Wyrm, a cosmic force of decay and destruction. Made manifest in the corporation Endron, the servants of the Wyrm stand poised to feast on the corpse of nature herself. The Wyrm, a corrupting entity, is winning the war against Gaia, Mother Earth. Pentex, a multinational corporation that serves the Wyrm, is controlling the world through its subsidiaries. A former protector of Gaia, born under a full moon the Auspice of Ahroun and proud werewolf Warrior of the Fianna Tribe, Cahal chose exile after losing control of his devastating Rage. While searching for his missing daughter, Cahal discovers that his old pack tribe is in danger, and he must come to its aid. On his quest for redemption and blood, Cahal plays a crucial role in the great war between the Garou and Endron, a powerful oil company that serves the Wyrm, a destructive spirit ravaging the planet. In the game, you can transform into a wolf and a Crinos, and you will have to master the three forms and powers to punish those who defiled Gaia, Mother Earth. Each form has its advantages. The wolf can move around undetected, as a human Cahal will be able to interact with others, and as the half-wolf Crinos, you can “unleash its inhuman rage to tear enemies apart.” Nice. The game was actually announced all the way back in 2017 – check out our interview with developer White Wolf. Developed by Cyanide Studio, the Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood will release for PC, Xbox One and PS4 this year. More information on the game is expected in July.
