Speaking during today’s Xbox and Bethesda roundtable, Spencer basically reiterated what he said earlier this week regarding whether new Zenimax Media games will be multi-platform. The company will still honor current contractual obligations such as those with Sony for Ghostwire: Tokyo and Death Loop. “We have games that exist on other platforms, and we’re going to go support those games on the platforms they’re on," said Spencer. “There are communities of players, and we love those communities and we’ll continue to invest in them, and even in the future, there might be things that have either contractual things or a legacy on different platforms. “But if you’re an Xbox customer, the thing I want you to know is this is about delivering great exclusive games for you that ship on platforms where Game Pass exists, and that’s our goal. That’s why we’re doing this, that’s the root of this partnership that we’re building, and the creative capability we’ll be able to bring to market for Xbox customers is going to be the best it’s ever been for Xbox.” So, to reiterate, games that are currently available on platforms other than Xbox, like Doom Eternal and The Elder Scrolls Online, will continue to be supported, and future games will likely only come to platforms that have Xbox Game Pass, which shouldn’t come as any surprise. As far as word on upcoming games from Bethesda and other studios in the family, there wasn’t any news dropped during the roundtable; however, Microsoft and Bethesda said more will be revealed in a showcase scheduled for sometime this summer. Maybe at that time, we will finally hear more about Starfield, but probably not The Elder Scrolls 6 as it’s coming out after the science-fiction title. We could be proven wrong though, as we’re not too great at guessing things, which is why we never gamble at the track.
