Earlier this month, Sony reported its latest console had shipped over 30 million units. Today, it announced 32.1 million units shipped as of the end of 2022. This figure is up by 14.8 million units year-over-year (yoy). For Q3, 7.1 million PS5 units shipped, an uptick of 3.2 million compared to the same quarter in 2022 when shipments hit 3.9 million units, bringing lifetime shipments to 17.3 million. PlayStation Plus subscribers declined during the quarter by 1....

As per a new report from UploadVR, the next-generation PlayStation VR headset that’s confirmed to be in development at Sony may be set to include a 4K panel, resulting in a total resolution of 4000x2040 (meaning you’ll be treated to 2000 x 2040 per eye). For anyone keeping track, that’ll put the headset fairly high up in the pecking order of VR headsets, with the PSVR 2 coming in with a higher resolution than the Oculus Quest 2 (which is capped at 1832 x 1920 per eye)....

Coming to PlayStation consoles as well, those with Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be able to play it for nada on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Folks have been gushing over the towering vampire lady in Resident Evil Village for a couple of weeks now on social media, which Capcom is rather chuffed about it seems. And tall isn’t the best adjective to describe her. Gigantic is more appropriate as Lady Dimitrescu is 9 feet 6 inches tall (2.9m), according to Capcom. Of course, her height takes into consideration her hat and high heels. Her height was confirmed by the game’s art director Tomonori Takano in a tweet from Capcom....

Housemarque has released a new update today for Returnal. Patch 1.3.7’s headline feature is a fix for a problem that’s been affecting a lot of players since the launch of the game. Returnal has a form of passive multiplayer that will occasionally show you the corpses of other players who died in the area. You can either scavenge them, or avenge them - at which point a tough mini-boss spawns and you have to fight it....

Fleets of ghost ships have invaded Seas of Thieves with the latest free content update, Haunted Shores. These ships need to be taken on, but beware as they are rather formidable what with the sprits fired from the cannons and not to mention the ghost mines. Should you defeat the fleet, you will be rewarded with loot, but you will also have to take on Flameheart’s ship, Burning Blade. Just be prepared....

In January, when Capcom surprise-dropped the first Resident Evil Village demo, the developer promised that an even bigger sneak peek is coming in the spring. Today, at the Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom fully detailed what we can expect. For starters, the demo will be available on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Stadia. This limited-time demo will only be available for one day. During that window, you’ll be able to play it for just up to one hour....

Announced all the way back in July, the big Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice update is just days away. The free patch launches Wednesday, October 28 at 10am PT, 1pm ET, 5pm UK. As previously detailed, the update doesn’t bring any major new content to the game, but it does introduce a couple of welcome additions and fan-requested features. The biggest is, of course, player recordings. These work similarly to ghosts/phantoms from other FromSoftware games in that they show other players how you got past a tricky section or performed a certain manoeuvre....

The game lets you pick between Horde and Alliance, use their special powers and fight for control over Azeroth. One interesting mechanic is that you can plan for your own race’s decline and lead a new one into the future. A game of Small World of Warcraft can be finished in 40 to 80 minutes, and it supports from two to five players....
