This weekend, both Call of Duty: Warzone and the main game Modern Warfare will kick off a double XP, and double weapon XP event. These go live simultaneously on Friday, at the usual reset time of 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm UK. You have until Monday to take advantage. Developed by Pineleaf Studio and published by Merge Games, Dwarfheim is about, well… dwarves. Specifically, drunken dwarves. You play as a dwarf (no way!) attempting to build a civilization, but are plagued by grotesque monsters and rival clans. The official EA Access Steam page notes that EA’s subscription-based games service will be made fully available for PC players pretty soon. For those unacquainted with said service, becoming a member allows you to benefit from exclusive in-game content, access to a wide variety of EA’s games, early access for select new releases, and discounts on EA games and relevant DLC packs. Just a few weeks before EA announced that EA Play will become part of Xbox Game Pass this holiday, the company renamed EA Access and Origin Access to the snappier EA Play. Origin Access Premier, the more expensive tier exclusive to its own PC store, has also been renamed to EA Play Pro. Unifying EA’s subscription services under one banner certainly makes sense, and is aligned with the publisher’s new approach to make its products and services available to customers on as many platforms as possible - including, of course, the recent arrival on Steam....

EA has come out and pre-emptively confirmed that it won’t be showing any new Star Wars games at its EA Play Live summer showcase, which takes place July 22. That said, the publisher hinted that something Star Wars-related will be revealed next year. This means that the rumoured Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel won’t make an appearance at this year’s show. Assuming EA is aiming to launch the game in 2022, it could make sense to announce it very late this year, or early next year....

Elden Ring was previously set for release on January 21, 2022 so that’s about a one-month delay - fairly small in the grand scheme. In the Tweet breaking the news, the developer cited “the depth & strategic freedom of the game” as needing more work, having exceeded its initial expectations. It’s not all bad news, though. FromSoftware also announced that Elden Ring is getting a network test in November. The closed test takes place over five sessions, only on consoles....

Update 1.07’s biggest new addition is separating PvP balance from single-player and co-op. In other words, scaling for weapons, skills, spells etc. will now have different values in PvP in order to better balance the experience. Patch 1.07 heralds the start of this approach to balance, and it’s the one FromSoft will be relying on moving forward. As a result, today’s update introduces several balance tweaks that only affect PvP gameplay....
