The email states the issue stems from high demand. “We’re contacting you about your order of PlayStation 5 to let you know in advance that you may not receive this item on the day it is released due to high demand,” reads the email via The Verge. “We’ll make every effort to get the item to you as soon as possible once released.” Pre-orders for the console are now live and reserved stock seems to have sold out at multiple retailers. This even seems to be the case for those who reserved a PS5 through the invite-only PSN pre-order. A recent report suggests Sony has booked 60 Delta planes to facilitate faster shipping of its console. Plus, Sony said there will be more stock of the console at launch then there were for PS4 during the same window. So hopefully retailers will know how many consoles they can pre-sell again.
